She is very excited to take on the role of Coordinating Producer this year for Orange Television Network. Some of her goals for this year include to master the craft of avocado toast and to rewatch every episode of The The Office.

Born and Raised in New York City, LaQuin has always appreciated the art of story telling. As a graduate student in Newhouse she hopes to sharpen her skills as a director. LaQuin’s background includes graphic arts, event planning, and production management. Interested in the way media impacts our society, she hopes to use media as a way of educating people about, and bring light to social issues. She wants to create content that forces viewers to think outside of the box, and expose them to new things.

Edward McFarland is from Houston, Texas and earned his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. As an active sports journalist he uploads his work to YouTube (bitly.com/emcstats) and Tumblr (emcstats.tumblr.com). McFarland believes that “there are multiple ways to tell the story of sports and its players along with the inspiration they provide; thus the reporting of sports becomes more than just points scored at the end of a game; it provides an opportunity to explain what it took to score those points and leave those watching to feel inspired.”

Hello! My name is Rebecca Thornburg and I am a sophomore BDJ major. I am from a small town outside of Worcester, Massachusetts. I love being involved around campus and love everything about Cuse! I am part of a sorority, Delta Gamma, and enjoy helping out the community and other clubs on campus. The sports games are so much fun and it’s awesome to see how passionate the fans are, including me! Kaitlyn is a Newhouse Student Representative, a member of Delta Gamma sorority, and participates in many philanthropic events, such as Relay for Life and OttoTHON. She is very passionate about her academics and loves traveling, having fun, trying new things, and meeting new people. Charlotte Balogh is co-Producer of the show ‘Freshmen at Life’ with Nia Maldonato. Prior to coming to Syracuse University, I served 8 years active duty in the United States Army. In the Army, I produced television, radio, and social media products in Maryland, South Korea, and Colorado. Telling stories that entertain, inform, and educate, drive me through school and life. I spend most of my time learning new ways to shoot video for audiences and mastering new editing platforms that are industry standards.

Starting his twelfth year as GM of OTN, Andy is very excited about the upcoming school year. With access to the new Dick Clark Studios in the Newhouse School, he expects OTN will be making great use of the state-of-the-art facilities.

This past year the web series “Fresh Starts” a co-production with OTN and The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications won a Bronze Award from NY Festivals and a bronze Telly Award. OTN is revamping its OTN YouTube channel with a new emphasis on the wide variety of programs OTN produces. And look for some live shows from the student production group “Loud and Clear” . . . live music from the new studios perhaps?
Andy continues to teach as an adjunct professor in the TRF department in the Newhouse School, play the saxophone and will be launching his own YouTube channel very soon.
